THE BEST DIET FOR YOU!

The one question I’m frequently asked is “What do you think is the best diet out there?” I have lots of opinions about the diet plans that are out there, but at the end of the day you have to pick a diet that works for you and one that’s sustainable. If you can’t stick to it long term you will get short-term results. We should be looking to make lifestyle changes and not trying the next new fitness food trend.

One thing I know for sure, is that sugar is a huge problem. So eliminating sugar and artificial sugars should be one of your top priorities. Also, dairy is another thing that inflames our body and should be cut out of your diet. Am I saying that you can never have a slice of pizza again or have a cookie, no! But what I am saying is you should be consuming these things as infrequently as possible. Plan a meal that you can have a dessert if you crave it, or a slice of pizza. I don’t believe in cheat days, our bodies can plateau with food just like weight training. So we have to shake things up with an occasional not so healthy meal.

Changing your lifestyle isn’t easy, If it were easy everyone would be healthy and fit. Be ready to challenge yourself and challenge those around you. Be aware when you are making excuses and get rid of them. Start living a no excuse lifestyle. Set realistic goals so you can set yourself up for success. In the coming weeks we’ll start breaking down different diet plans to see what works, doesn’t work, and what the best plan for you is!

Start gradually by eliminating bad things and adding good things. For example, if you skip breakfast, start eating breakfast in the mornings and that should be your only focus for a week. If you drink soda everyday, eliminate soda every other day until you get rid of it completely. Make a plan and execute it. Let me know some of the ways you set yourself up for success on your journey to being a healthier you. Remember to “Grow Up & Show Up!”
